Former Army Sgt. Jason Davis, a retired corporal who was arrested for participating in a protest outside the Pentagon last week, is now a columnist for the Texas Observer and a frequent guest on Fox News.
In the wake of the incident, Davis spoke with Breitbart News, where he told Breitbart News host Laura Ingraham that he’s “confident that the people deserve it.”
I’ve got to say, I’m not just talking about my life, I’ve got a job.
I’ve been an officer for six years.
I have a house and I have kids, and I’m getting paid to come out there.
I’m just getting out there and doing what I love to do.

I’m confident in the fact that the public is going to understand what their representative is doing, because they know what they’re doing, and the media is not doing their job.”

He previously served as a member of the Texas National Guard from 2008 to 2012.
In the aftermath of the event, which was attended by thousands of protesters, Davis said that he and his fellow soldiers did not take it lightly.
“It was a big protest, it was a violent protest, and it was not a peaceful protest,” Davis told Ingraham.
“The military doesn’t do peace.
They’re here to fight.
They are here to make America great again, and they have to put up with some of the things that are going on in the country.””
We didn’t expect a protest of that magnitude to happen,” he added.
“But we are very much aware of that, and we’re very concerned.
We don’t take it for granted.”
In a statement, Davis, the former military press officer, told Breitbart Texas that the incident did not make him question the patriotism of his fellow officers, but he feels the need to make a statement to the American public.
“This is my personal opinion, but the military is in need of a major overhaul, and so many of us feel that this is the time to make some changes, to put our best foot forward and not let these issues get in the way of our country’s future,” he said.
“What I would like to know is, how do you guys feel about the Army doing the job that you are paid to do?
Are you comfortable with the amount of time you spend on these kind of things?” he added, before noting that the military “has some serious issues.””
Do you believe that you have a duty to the country to show up for work?”
“Do you feel that you should be able to be there for your country when it needs you most?”
“We’ve been in a lot of situations in the military,” Davis replied.
“You guys know the one that I’m talking about.
That was a very big event.
It was a riot, it happened outside of the Pentagon.
So we had a lot to deal with.
We dealt with a lot.
But this was a pretty serious event that happened.”
