The New York State Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), the liberal advocacy group founded by former Clinton White House chief of staff and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, has been named as the new publisher of the New England Free Press.

PIRG is owned by the conservative Rupert Murdoch-owned News Corp. The organization is also part of a media conglomerate known as MediaOne that also owns a number of other publications.

The move comes after News Corp.’s acquisition of a number that included the New Hampshire Union Leader and a number from the Boston Globe and New York Post.

In addition to News Corp., the new New England press will be owned by News Corp’s parent company, News Corp Publishing.

In a statement on Tuesday, PIRg said it is looking forward to bringing the New Jersey Free Press “the same quality and depth of editorial content we have enjoyed for decades.”

In addition, the group said it would continue to provide content that is independent, impartial and open to all points of view.

The New England Press will have an office in New York and the New Brunswick, New Jersey, headquarters will remain in the city.

PILG, which was founded in 1977, is a media watchdog organization that aims to protect journalists and the public from government interference.

In 2017, the organization was involved in the lawsuit against President Donald Trump that resulted in a federal judge ordering Trump to pay $25 million in damages to the women who accused him of sexual assault.

The group also helped lead the effort to defeat a measure that would have imposed a $10,000 fine on journalists who failed to report on the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

“New England Free, Free Press, Free Media, Free Speech” was an effort that led to the release of a series of articles by PIR, including “Why Trump’s Media Outreach is a Scam” and “The New England Media and the Trump Administration.”

The Free Press has been a frequent critic of Trump.

Last week, PILg published an op-ed titled “The Trump Administration’s Assault on the Media: No More Fake News.”
